The loop follows Tenaya Creek beyond the lake, and crosses two bridges after the Snow Creek Trail junction before returning past Mirror Lake on the south side of Tenaya Canyon. There are more than a dozen campgrounds in the area. From here the route parallels the Bear River and on to Evanston. This season has followed that trend, making the lake off limits so far to people used to playing on it during the wintertime. The higher-elevation highways that are expected to be open for Memorial Day include: UDOT does not maintain these highways during winter due to heavy snowfall and the low number of vehicles using these roads.
